One of the first ideas the GOP came up with out of their newly won House majority is a 30% national sales tax — and it’s the worst damn idea I’ve ever heard.

That would mean paying an extra 30% on every good you purchase, from gas to groceries, at a time Americans are getting killed by inflation. It’s just flat out ridiculous, and I’m intent on defeating this awful plan.

Here in Montana we don’t have a sales tax, and we definitely don’t need the federal government imposing one on us. This plan is also projected to hit working families the hardest, a heartless move after years of economic uncertainty brought on by the pandemic.

I’m not going to let it happen. I will do whatever I can to defeat this national sales tax — but I need your help.

Democrats have such a slim majority in the Senate, and letting Mitch McConnell take back the gavel next year means Republicans will be able to pass whatever nonsensical tax plan they want. Can you pitch in $10 today to help us fight back and make sure they never get the chance? [[link removed]]
