Millions of girls are protesting for their right to learn – it’s time to speak
up with them.

Dear Global Citizen,




222 million.



That's how many young people have been forced out of school by conflict and
crisis. 222 million dreams of becoming doctors, lawyers, and artists put on
hold.



Around the globe, young people are being denied their chance to shape the
world, and girls are being hit the hardest. When a girl is forced out of school,
<[link removed]> it threatens more than just her education –
it puts her at greater risk of violence, forced marriage, and poverty.



It’s impossible to imagine what my life might look like today had I not been
granted access to a safe education. It afforded me opportunities from a young
age not only to dream and aspire, but to believe wholeheartedly that my
aspirations were within reach.



My story cannot be the exception. Girls across the world are standing up for
their right to learn. They are daring todream and they are calling for action.



On World Education Day, we have the opportunity to join them in this fight, to
uplift their voices and to inspire world leaders to take action for their right
to learn.



I’m determined to show leaders that education cannot wait – join me in taking
