What's Next for Doorways?

Missed the lunch-and-learn last week? Check out our strategic plan summary now!

In 2022, Doorways embarked upon a 6-month strategic planning process to shape our new strategic plan. Our goal was to build on Doorways’ strong foundation and shape the organization moving forward.

A broad range of stakeholders contributed to Doorways’ new strategic plan, including clients, volunteers, staff, and board. Together, we reaffirmed our vision, mission, and core values (adding trauma-informed care and equity), and solidified a clear path for the next three years. Of note, some of our top priorities include:

  • Expanding the reach and impact of our primary prevention services
  • Instilling trauma-informed care across all aspects of our work and organization
  • Expanding safehousing solutions
  • Building our HomeStart supportive housing services

While it is important for the media to educate audiences on the realities of sexual violence and its effects, it is just as important to stay mindful when producing content that can be hard to watch and digest. In response, RAINN partnered on the Netflix Film Luckiest Girl Alive to give survivors access to resources and to make sure that portrayals of sexual violence are mindful, survivor-centered, and trauma-informed."
