No one can be a good person without integrating the capacity for aggression. That is because you cannot say "no" without the capacity for aggression. If you really say it, "no" means there is nothing you can do to me that will make me change my mind. Or conversely, it means I will play for higher stakes than you are willing to. Unless you have your aggression integrated, there is no chance you can say that, and if you did, no one would take you seriously because they would know it was just a show. Therefore, one of the most useful things you need to work on is this idea of the integration of your shadow.
What do you do with the part of you that is aggressive and potentially malevolent? You just crush it — that is the superego response in some sense — and you just put it behind you, so to speak. Or, do you admit to its existence and bring it into the game?
Disciplined aggression gives you access to the whole source of energy you would not otherwise have.
