From 4-6 p.m. on February 2, 2023, virtually; Common Formative Assessments

This virtual training will consist of four two-hour sessions from 4-6 p.m. on February 2, March 6, April 6, and May 9, 2023.

A Focus on Learning - PLC Critical Question 2: This series goes deep into the PLC process and focuses on monitoring a guaranteed and viable curriculum. Participants will connect to research supporting the need for schools and teams to align common formative assessments so that they are able to monitor student learning. Participants will understand how to unwrap essential standards to the target level and determine proficiency. Time will be spent connecting to the principles of a balanced and coherent system of assessments and how to create common formative assessments that align to essential standards and learning targets.

Each session scaffolds on the prior one and will conclude with investigating the importance of engaging in data conversations that result from common formative assessments. Participants will reach clarity on the three rules of presenting data so collaborative teams are able to transition from analyzing to taking collective action.

The series concluded with a focus on the key characteristics of effective data protocols that elevate best instructional practice and determine students who have and have not mastered essential standards and learning targets.

A .5 PTSB credit will be available for participants who attend all sessions. Register here.
