Many journalists, and particularly newer ones, will appreciate three things while getting up to speed on the latest trends driving change in their market area:
🪟 A framework to understand what’s going on
🗂️ A guide to experts to use as sources
📊 A leg up on finding the hard data that’s relevant to their community
Journalists will get all three in Poynter’s new Beat Academy, led by PolitiFact senior correspondent Jon Greenberg. Beat Academy runs from March through October and includes nearly 20 webinars on topics including business, immigration, climate change and health care. Each 90-minute session will help newsrooms produce distinctive coverage faster and better. Some sessions even offer participants the opportunity to apply for grants.
