WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJW)
<[link removed]> –
JD Vance has officially been sworn into the United States Senate.
Joined in Washington, D.C. by his wife and three children, Vance became the
58th person to serve as a U.S. Senator for the State of Ohio.
“I am honored to represent the great state of Ohio in the United States
Senate. Throughout my campaign, Ohioans from all over the state issued a
similar reminder: don’t forget where you came from. I view this, more than
anything else, as the mandate for this office,”Vance said.
“I hope that with this position, I can lend my voice to the millions of
working- and middle-class Ohioans who have been left behind by decades of
failed leadership in Washington. We have a great deal of work ahead of us. I am
grateful for the opportunity.”

‘NOW THE HARD PART STARTS’ (The Dayton Daily News)
<[link removed]>
-- The road from Middletown to Washington, D.C., has taken many detours for
James David “JD” Vance, but the newly elected U.S. Senator believes all his
successes began at home.
Without that guidance, Vance doesn’t know where he would be today. Maybe a
high school dropout. Or possibly a man with a criminal record. He wouldn’t be
one of Ohio’s two state senators. That’s for certain, he said.

impact in the region, but also for the national security of the country,” said
Vance.

hospitals, but this day was about seeing what they do, what they need and how
he can help.

and I get an opportunity to talk to them because that's how you learn,” said
Vance.
“I want to be a good senator for the whole state.”

‘BIDEN’S CAMPAIGN AGAINST OUR ENERGY INDUSTRY’ (Youngstown Vindicator)
<[link removed]>
–Senator Vance penned an Op-ed bashing the Biden Administration’s considering
banning gas stoves.
“That would be catastrophic for the two-in-five Ohio households and thousands
of Ohio restaurants that use gas-powered stovetops. Home cooks and local
restaurants prefer gas burners for a simple reason: some of us find them better
to cook with and cheaper to operate. Ohioans have suffered from inflation and
rising energy costs long enough and should not be forced to choose more
expensive and less effective alternatives to feed ourselves and our families.
But that’s exactly what the Biden administration intends to do,”Vance wrote.

‘THIS IS A MASSIVE GIFT TO THE DRUG CARTELS’ (The Daily Caller)
<[link removed]>
-- Republican Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance and Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs are planning on
sending a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro
Mayorkas on Wednesday which calls for answers regarding mass parole for illegal
migrants in the U.S.
“Since the day they took office, President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas have
purposefully and maliciously eroded our nation’s border security. They have
presided over the worst border crisis we’ve seen in decades and more illegal
immigration than any administration in recent history. Now, they aim to
sidestep Congress and the law by granting parole to hundreds of thousands of
illegal migrants,”Vance said.
“This is a massive gift to the drug cartels and human traffickers that are
killing Americans by the day and wreaking havoc on our country. The American
people deserve to know why the Biden Administration has taken this action.”

‘BIDEN ADMINISTRATION CAUGHT RED-HANDED’ (WLWT)
<[link removed]>
-- In an interview with WLWT, freshmanSen. JD Vance says the Biden
administration was caught “pretty red-handed” with a push to step in over gas
stoves.
“Depending on which numbers you're looking at, between 20 to 40% of Ohioans
cook their meals every night. So just banning those would be destructive
economically, really, really challenging to a lot of families. But the flip
side of it is we've got a home appliance industry in Ohio that's close to $5
billion in wages, 26,000 employees,”Vance said.

‘IT’S VERY SIMPLE’ (WFMJ 21)
<[link removed]>
-- U.S. Senator, J.D. Vance along with North Carolina Congressman, Dan Bishop
are requesting transparency from the Biden administration on security
assistance to Ukraine.
"It's very simple. The Biden Administration is required by law to send
Congress this report at the end of the month. They should expand this report to
tell us the amount of money we've sent to Ukraine, including comprehensive
information showing how these funds were used,"Vance wrote.
"Congress has shelled out more than $100 billion to support Ukraine since last
February, yet we have zero insight into exactly what this money is being spent
on. The American people deserve to know exactly where this money is going,"
Bishop added.
