Hello dear UNITED friends,
Our January Newsletter is arriving a bit late because it is packed with many updates and interesting things. January is in fact generally perceived as a heavy month, sometimes even overwhelming with all the year ahead to face, especially in such a complicated time.
For this reason we want to start by sharing with you the inspiring quote from our 9th of November Activist Livestream featuring the afro-european activist Khadija Tirha.
Holocaust Remembrance Day
January is indeed also the month of the Holocaust Remembrance Day and for this year we are commemorating it by joining the final conference of the IPEAH project, led by Inštitút ľudských práv - Human Rights Institute and for which we are partner together with Sos Razzismo Italia.
#IPEAH is a pilot attempt to test new methods of remembrance of the Holocaust and also of combating anti-Semitism and pervasive nationalism, with the aim of promoting a personalized and participatory education in young people and beyond.
The conference is going to be held in presence in the city of Rome on the 27th of January 2023 from 9.00 to 13:00 CET, also commemorating the events of 1943, 80 years after the start of the deportation of the Roman Jews. It will also be possible to follow online through Zoom.
People and Peace conference
In January we also joined the International Peace Forum on Saturday 7th of January in conjunction with People and Peace conference 8 – 9 January 2023. More info can be found in the Facebook event by Folkochfred:
R2COM Project
As usual we also like to give you the chance to participate to our projects and initiatives and this month it will be possible also through the survey made within the R2COM project “Radicalisation and Violent Extremism Prevention in the Community”, which intends to enhance NGOs’ involvement, knowledge, skills and networking in the P/CVE field. The survey is a need analysis and it's available here.
More info about the results and this amazing project will be arriving soon so stay tuned!
#Diversamente: Youth against Discrimination
On the 20th of January the first event for the project #Diversamente, Youth against Discrimination, of which we are a supporting organisation, took place in Turin, Italy, with the lead of ICEI. The project was created to counter hate speech and discrimination, promoting the role of the educating community and of young people as leaders of positive change for the construction of more inclusive, intercultural and just cities and societies. We are looking forward for their updates.

UNITED is looking for delegates!
Become a Delegate for #UNITED!
UNITED is looking for Human Rights advocates to contribute to the networking and advocacy actions of our 560-member-strong network.
We are launching a new call in order to recruit UNITED Delegates. The pool of UNITED Delegates consists of experts and activists, who act as the ambassadors of the network, and represent UNITED at various international meetings and events. By doing so, you are expanding the UNITED network, creating linkages internationally, also contributing to our common cause, which is fighting against any type of racism and discrimination.
During the events, you will represent UNITED, so your main task will be making other people know about who we are and what our network represents. Hence, we will provide you with more detailed information on our organization.
Join us and support knowledge sharing, advocacy and policy impact for Human Rights for all!
