** Jean-Pierre Attacks DeSantis For Rejecting Woke Curriculum in FL

During a press conference on Friday ([link removed]) , White House Press Propagandist Karine Jean-Pierre ([link removed]) attacked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) over the state rejecting a new AP (Advanced Placement) African American Studies course.

“It is incomprehensible to see — this block — that DeSantis has put forward. If you think about the study of black Americans, that is what he wants to block,” Jean-Pierre claimed.

False. The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) rejected ([link removed]) the AP African American Studies course over its woke content, which included sections on “Black Queer Studies,” cultural appropriation, reparations, and the “global influence of the Black Lives Matter” movement The FDOE correctly asserted that the course itself is “inexplicably contrary to Florida law and significantly lacks educational value.”

“These types of actions aren’t new. They are not new from what we’re seeing, especially from Florida, sadly. Florida currently bans teachers from talking about who they are and who they love,” Jean-Pierre added.

Patently false. She was referring to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law, which prohibits teachers from discussing sexuality and transgender ideology with children in kindergarten through third grade.

“It is incomprehensible,” she repeated. “[Florida has] banned more books in schools and libraries than almost every other state in the country.”

Another lie. The state is not “banning books.” Jean-Pierre was referring to DeSantis signing a bill ([link removed]) last year that obligated all elementary schools to provide a list of every book available in their libraries, as well as mandated school boards let the public know when they plan to approve new books. This move was made after DeSantis noted that Florida public schools were making sexually explicit books available to children. The governor’s aim was to give parents a say in which books can be in school libraries.

DeSantis is a target of the Left’s lies and demonization because he has the courage and fortitude to do what every Republican should be doing: standing up to the Left’s reprehensible woke agenda designed to indoctrinate children about racism, sex, and LGBT issues.

** Accusing Republicans of Lying about Critical Race Theory

After Republican Glenn Youngkin defeated Democrat Terry McAuliffe ([link removed]) in a stunning upset in the Virginia gubernatorial election of November 2021 – an outcome that was at least partially attributable to Republicans hammering away at Democrats for supporting the teaching of the tenets of Critical Race Theory ([link removed]) (CRT) to schoolchildren — Jean-Pierre attacked Republicans. At a press briefing ([link removed]) on November 4, she said: “Republicans are lying. They’re not being honest. They’re not being truthful about where we [Democrats] stand [regarding CRT]. And they’re … cynically trying to use our kids as a political football. They’re talking about our kids … when it’s election season, but they won’t vote for them when it
matters.”
