OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates Issues Statement Following Shooting in Monterey Park, California
OCA stands with the Greater Los Angeles community in a statement following the Monterey Park shooting.
Washington, D.C. — OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates released the following statement in the aftermath of the mass shooting in Monterey Park, California.

In a time of what would be meaningful celebration for our communities, the devastating tragedy in Monterey Park is a terrible reminder of the gun violence that continues to plague our country. Much is still unknown about the situation and we urge caution amidst the aftermath of jumping to conclusions and spreading misinformation from unverified reports.

Let this be a time of support and love for the 10 families that lost loved ones. As Asian Americans continue to welcome the Lunar New Year, we encourage solidarity and mindfulness so that our communities are safe and supported in their resilience.
