Where are you tossing...cardboard?
Cardboard does not belong in your bulk waste pile!?Recycle cardboard boxes correctly in just a few steps:
- Empty it: remove packing materials like Styrofoam or packing peanuts.
- Flatten it to save space.
- Ensure your box is clean and dry. Wet boxes can still be recycled once dried.
- Put it in your blue recycle cart.

Composting Corner
While the City still encourages residents to compost at home, we recognize that not everyone has the knowledge, time or space to do so. The City's Residential Food Waste Composting Program is meant to help more families reduce their food waste while diverting additional materials away from the landfill.
Materials collected through this program are taken to a large-scale, commercial composting facility that maintains higher temperatures than backyard compost bins. These temperatures kill bacteria and break down foods that usually should not be composted in a backyard pile, such as bones from cooked meats, nut shells, large fruit pits, and even dairy or eggs. Check out below how much of your food waste can be composted, and sign up today!
