ZIONIST ORGANIZATION OF AMERICA NEWS RELEASE   ZOA’s Longtime Israel Representative Dan Illouz Becomes Member in Israel’s Knesset The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) is extremely proud to announce that Dan Illouz, its representative in Israel, has been elected as a member of the 25th Knesset of the state of Israel. Illouz (36), born in Canada, immigrated to Israel in 2009 and immediately joined the Likud movement. An attorney who graduated from McGill Law School, Illouz previously served as a member of the Jerusalem City Council, and until recently, managed the activities of the Zionist Organization of America in Israel. In the preliminary elections for the 25th Knesset, he was chosen to represent the Likud party at the 33rd spot on the list reserved for a new Oleh (immigrant to Israel). Illouz believes in a free market economy, transparency, and reducing bureaucracy. He supports the decentralization of state powers and the application of Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria. Dan will act strongly to lower the cost of living, reduce inconvenient construction barriers, and improve infrastructure. He also advocates for harsher punishment for crimes intended to undermine Israel as a Jewish state. Dan plans to use his international savvy, trilingual abilities, and global connections to form an international front that will protect Israel's presence in Judea and Samaria. He views the Abraham Accords as a great source of hope for strengthening Israel’s international relations and spreading peace throughout the region. He intends to use all the tools at his disposal to expand the Accords, protecting the state of Israel and strengthening the bridge between Israel and the Diaspora. Dan strongly opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state, which would exist on Jewish land and immediately become an Iran/Hamas terrorist dictatorship. He firmly believes the land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people in both historical and legal perspectives. Dan Illouz states, “As a member of the Knesset, with a strong desire to improve the lives of Israeli citizens by strengthening Israel’s security and economy, I am excited to continue serving the people of Israel at home and abroad.
