We Regret to Announce that PLAAY SuMMit 2023

has been Canceled

From PLAAY Director, Wally Wilson:

We have had many changes thus far in 2023!

We have decided to cancel the 2023 PLAAY SuMMit which was scheduled for February 17 and 18th. There were significant changes and necessary adjustments to the Anchorage School District Calendar in response to the numerous missed-school days in December. Cancelling the SuMMit was a difficult decision, but it was the right decision. We are discussing the potential for developing an online course, but we will need to further investigate if that is a viable option towards the end of the year.

Our PLAAY Day team will again be “The United States of PLAAY!” We had discussed expanding the 2023 PLAAY Day to include 12-times zones, but we were unable at this point to expand as hoped. We will again start at 8 AM Alaska time with a school in Cheshire, Connecticut and PLAAY across the US and finished at 1 PM Alaska time with a school in Hilo, Hawaii!

PLAAY Day will begin at 8 am AKST on February 23rd at The Special Olympics Alaska Jim Balamaci Training Center in Anchorage, Alaska.

We hope you can get your school, business, or personal group signed up for PLAAY Day.

More updates to come in February!

PLAAY On!
