350 Chicago Outreach Committee Meeting (**RESCHEDULED)
WHEN: Saturday, Jan 25, 2020 @ 10AM (**changed from original Jan 18 date)
DETAILS:
We will discuss topics including creating outreach materials, tabling at events, building a coalition in support of our ongoing divestment campaign, and expanding our database of information about allies. See below for a description of this committee. Please RSVP to Alex McLeese (

The Outreach Committee is responsible for coordinating 350 Chicago’s efforts to recruit new volunteers, sharing information about the group with the public, collaborating with ally organizations, building coalitions, and conducting petition drives. We hold new member coffee chats before monthly educational meetings, send personalized emails to new volunteers based on their stated interests, schedule one-on-one meetings with new volunteers, and help new members get involved in working groups. We create materials to be used for outreach, including brochures, fliers, one-page handouts, and postcards. We man informational tables at concerts, festivals, and markets to recruit new volunteers and promote public awareness of our work to address the climate crisis. We maintain relationships with our allies regarding possible collaboration, including ways 350 Chicago can support the work of our allies. We build coalitions of interested allies, including for our current divestment campaign. We coordinate work with other 350 local chapters. When opportunities arise, we collect petition signatures through our listserv and attendance at events.
Women's March Chicago 2020
WHEN: Saturday, Jan 18, 2020 @ 10AM
DETAILS:
After our group has gathered at Bridgeport Coffee, we will walk together to Grant Park in preparation for the march step-off at 11AM.
Women’s March Chicago brings together women and allies in support of women’s rights including equal rights, equal pay, reproductive justice, affordable healthcare, affordable childcare, racial justice, voting rights, freedom from violence, LGBTQ+ rights, immigrant rights, fair wages, access for persons with disabilities, environmental protections, and other critical areas of focus.
Women’s March Chicago 2020 proudly celebrates the historic number of women that Illinois voters swept into office at the city, county, state and national levels, while also honoring marchers with disabilities. Our female leaders are serving as honorary “Wayfinders,” assisting marchers with disabilities as they step off the march together and make their way from Grant Park to Federal Plaza.
