Yesterday, the House was finally able to see a new trove of evidence from Trump associate Lev Parnas — including evidence showing that Parnas and others in his orbit were tracking and threatening Ambassador Yovanovitch in Kiev. Susan Collins immediately decided the evidence wasn’t worth her time:

Thanks to legal maneuvering by Trump and the White House Counsel, and delays from House Republicans and Mitch McConnell, Democrats weren’t able to get this evidence until now.

When Mitch McConnell said he would work with the White House counsel to coordinate the trial, that was tantamount to a jury foreman admitting he’s cooperating with the defense team. That’s not what a trial looks like in a democracy — but Susan Collins will ultimately capitulate to what McConnell wants.
