Yesterday I went to a rally to protest the $18B President Trump has withheld from Puerto Rico after the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria, and I hope you’ll add your voice to the hundreds I marched with—

As Deputy Secretary for Economic Development for the State of New York, I was part of New York’s relief efforts for Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Maria. I led the New York swat team that helped assess the damage and cost caused by this disaster, and I can tell you — $18B doesn’t even begin to cover it.

In our assessment, there was $94B worth of damage done — and now there has been an earthquake on top of it.

Trump must release ALL the funding.

The people of Puerto Rico are American citizens. Our President had no problem allocating money to Texas, yet Puerto Rico is still waiting as they endure more harm and loss.
