Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year, over a dozen states banned abortion. There are even more states -- including Ohio -- where GOP lawmakers are trying to do the same.

And if Senate Republicans had their way, abortion would be banned in all 50 states.

I stand with the majority of Ohio voters and Americans who support Roe and reproductive rights. On what would have been the 50th anniversary of Roe, will you stand with us?

I’ve spoken to Ohioans and health care providers about these dangerous restrictions.

They force clinics to close their doors. They put the health of women and girls at risk. They take away women’s freedom to make their own decisions about their health and families and put those decisions in the hands of politicians.

Make no mistake -- anti-choice extremists are testing the limits of what they can get away with. Birth control could be next. Marriage equality could be next. All of our most personal decisions about our families could be at risk.

I’m fighting for a measure in the Senate that would restore Roe and guarantee reproductive rights across the country. I will never stop working to protect women’s -- and all Americans’ -- freedom to live their lives how they want without interference from politicians.
