Dear John,
Touring the 16th Congressional District
This week was the first week back in central and northern Illinois since being sworn in as the U.S. Representative for the 16th Congressional District of Illinois. It's an honor to serve our region, and this week I began traveling the district to meet with constituents and visit our communities. As your voice in Washington, I will continue to take what I hear from residents in the 16th District back to Washington so I can better represent Illinois.
Farm Bureau visits
This week, I visited the LaSalle, Livingston, Bureau County Farm Bureaus to hear from Illinois farmers about what issues are impacting them. With upcoming Farm Bill negotiations, I want to ensure that IL16 farmers have a seat at the table as we begin important discussions on the Farm Bill. Agriculture is the number one industry in Illinois, and I will continue to advocate for our farmers, ethanol producers, and ag community on the Ways and Means Committee.
Touring Rivian in Normal
Enjoyed touring the Rivian plant in Normal and test driving the new vehicles being manufactured in Illinois! The innovative work Rivian is doing is second to none, and I appreciate their continued commitment to economic development in central Illinois.
Visiting with Illinois educators
Thank you to Putnam County Superintendent Dr. Clayton Theisinger and the Illinois Valley Community College President Dr. Jerry Corcoran for hosting me this week to discuss education initiatives in the 16th District.
Discussing important infrastructure projects at the Rockford Airport
Enjoyed visiting Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) and the Greater Rockford Airport Authority this week to discuss priorities for the airport, transportation in northern Illinois, and the importance of RFD as an economic driver for our region. Thanks to Mike Dunn and his staff for the tour.

Economic development for our region
Thank you to Adam Dontz for inviting me to speak at the Greater Livingston County Economic Development Council’s annual meeting in Pontiac this week. I will continue to be an advocate for economic development and a stronger business climate that attracts opportunities to our region.
Standing up for Life
I join with Americans in Washington, D.C. and across the country this week in standing up for the unborn and defending the inherent right to life. I will always lend a voice to the voiceless in Congress.
As always, thanks for subscribing to my newsletter!
Sincerely,
Darin LaHood Member of Congress
