Abortion rights under attack in Florida

Dear Friend,
Today should have been the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade . Every day since the Supreme Court overturned Roe , more and more people are being denied abortion care, making what was already a dire situation that much worse.
Since the fall of Roe , abortion bans have taken effect in nearly half of the country. Here in Florida, abortion is now illegal after 15 weeks -- and if Republicans in the state legislature have their way, it could be restricted even further.
We deserve the freedom to make decisions about our own reproductive healthcare. We deserve access to abortion care no matter who we are, where we're from, or how much we earn. And we deserve leaders who will fight for this freedom and access. That's why Ruth's List was created -- to recruit, train, and elect Democratic pro-choice women leaders who will fight for abortion rights and access. And it's never been more important than it is right now.
With Republicans in the supermajority in Tallahassee, we won't be able to stop further abortion restrictions this session. That's why we must continue to build the bench and elect more pro-choice women to the state legislature.
Will you chip in $50 in honor of what would be Roe's 50th anniversary? Your support will help us elect more Democratic pro-choice women who will make restoring abortion rights in Florida a top priority. [[link removed]]

I've been at this for a long time, starting with my work in community care to serving as the President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida for nearly 25 years. And today, a s one of thousands of Floridians gathering at rallies across the state to mark this would-be anniversary, I can't help but feel angry. But Roe was never the ceiling, and rights never guaranteed access, especially for the most marginalized communities among us. We now have the opportunity to demand more, to dream bigger, and to fight for abortion that is not only legal but accessible, here in Florida and throughout our nation.
I hope you'll consider a donation of $50 or whatever you can afford, in honor of Roe's 50th anniversary, and join our fight for abortion access. [[link removed]]
