Now, Roe is gone. But we’re not giving up the fight.

Roy Cooper for North Carolina

Hello John,

Today, we mark the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision — the first since another Court overturned it last summer. Now, abortion is completely illegal in 13 states. Republican politicians have threatened access in even more states — including right here in North Carolina.

For nearly half a century, Americans knew that their right to decide their own reproductive futures was protected under the constitution.

That’s one of the most fundamental rights we can have, and Democrats are determined to restore it wherever we can. Until then, we have to ensure that Republicans can’t restrict reproductive rights anywhere else.

Let me be clear: In North Carolina, you have the right to receive reproductive medical care, and I’ll fight to protect that right with every power at my disposal.

However, Republicans in Raleigh are determined to push through restrictive legislation that rolls back access to some care.

We cannot accept that.

John, if you agree that the right to make our own reproductive health care decisions is fundamental, please, add your name to my petition demanding the GOP abandon their restrictive plans for North Carolina >>>
