URGENT, John: An extreme gun rights group just raised over $45,000 in six days to stop gun safety laws in Virginia. This is part of a disturbing trend growing across the country, including in your state. We need you to defend our democracy and safety from gun violence:

Please rush $5 or more now – whatever you can spare – to make sure Brady can stop the gun extremists!

You might have seen the headlines — gun rights extremists are threatening violence and even "civil war" over new gun safety laws in Virginia. Yesterday, the governor declared a State of Emergency.

This is about more than Virginia — it's a troubling trend spreading in states and towns across the country. Extremists are pushing local governments to become so-called “Second Amendment sanctuaries," and saying they’ll refuse to follow common-sense gun safety laws, like universal background checks.

They’re quickly organizing and raising funds. An extremist pro-gun group in Virginia just raised over $45,000 in seven days – with a goal of $100,000 by Monday – and they’re planning on using every dollar to rally extremists from across the country to stop these lifesaving gun safety laws in Virginia from going into effect.

We can’t let gun rights extremists win, John. After all our hard work to prevent gun violence, we urgently need every grassroots supporter to help us protect against extremists NOW and raise $50,000 for our emergency response fund before midnight on Sunday:

Will you rush $5 to make sure Brady can defend democracy, protect gun safety legislation, and stop pro-gun extremists?

Brady needs to raise $50,000 by midnight on Sunday to protect our country’s gun safety laws and show extremists and the gun lobby that we won’t EVER back down in the face of intimidation. But right now, we’re falling way behind and need a POWERFUL response from you, John, John:

Will you rush $5 to make sure Brady can defend democracy, help protect gun safety laws, and stop pro-gun extremists?

It’s in our hands. We can’t let the extremists win.
