Who oversees the U.S energy system?
If you turned on the lights or heated your home today, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission likely played a part in that. It’s an agency that oversees energy markets and ensures consumers have access to reliable, safe, secure, and affordable energy. It also can play a role accelerating our country’s clean energy transition — but the Commission is on the brink of deadlock if President Biden doesn’t fill a key vacancy. Read more: [link removed]
Our continued fight for clean water
Wetlands are inextricably connected to other waterways and crucial in maintaining water quality. You can’t protect one without the other. The EPA recently announced a new rule expanding protections for U.S. waterways under the Clean Water Act, but clean water is still on the chopping block. An upcoming Supreme Court decision could blow a hole in the Clean Water Act by limiting its scope. We will be watching, and we will be ready to fight for our water. Read more: [link removed]
Indigenous islanders in Guam take on the military
