Happy Chinese New Year - of the Rabbit!

January 22, 2023 is the first day of Chinese New Year, the Year of Rabbit. I wish you and your family good health, happiness, and prosperity.

My favorite childhood memories are about the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year.) For the annual gathering, we would save money for a whole year prior in order to feast on plenty of great Sichuan style dishes. We would make at least 12 dishes representing the 12 months, have lots of cigarettes and local Baijiu (moon shine) where my uncles would play drinking games and get roaring drunk. Contrary to what you might believe, Chinese working people drink and smoke like Russians!  For me, I would receive a new clothes from my Mom and Dad.  Then us kids would walk around the tables to kowtow to the elderly saying “Bainian” (Happy new year) in order to get Red Pocket Money to buy school supplies and some candies.

I miss my extended family in China. I pray that my relatives as well as friends are safe. The last time I saw my extended family or friends was 2015. See my family picture here.

I was planning a trip for Chinese New Year in 2019, but I was threatened by CCP supporters due to my speaking out in this country. I had to cancel my trip.

I will never stop speaking against the totalitarianism of the CCP. I feel it is my duty as an American citizen to speak the truth and warn people to their true nature.

On that note, I have started a new show on my YouTube channel called IMMIGRANTS SPEAK, as one of my New Year resolutions.  I am pleased to introduce my friend and volunteer Amani as my co-host of this new program.  Click AMANI INTRO.

I have also set up an IMMIGRANT’S COMMUNITY site for people to join and support.

We welcome everyone who is interested in listening to immigrants who fled oppressive/totalitarian regimes telling personal stories, and our concerns for America.

This Chinese New Year Eve, I have two Chinese immigrants from Sichuan talk about Chinese Spring Festival traditions and personal memories on my YouTube channel. We are calling for more immigrants to come out and tell their stories about their journey to freedom. Please like, share & subscribe.
