Dear friend,

After a big week in Albany, I was invited on to NY1’s “Inside City Hall” to talk about the session so far and my priorities for the year ahead.

I used the opportunity to highlight my #RaiseTheWage legislation that would increase the minimum wage to about $21 by 2026.

As you know, this bill is my main focus for 2023. It would give a raise to three million New Yorkers who need it most. Nearly a third of the state would get an annual raise of about $3,307 thanks to my bill. Most importantly, the #RaiseTheWage Act would make sure that there are automatic increases in the future pegged to the cost of living.

This is real money that will help workers secure homes for their family and put food on the table. I know how much this matters because I am part of a generation that has struggled to buy homes and find our place in the middle class. We’re all being squeezed by lower pay and higher inflation. It’s time to make a change.

I am dedicated to pushing for this groundbreaking legislation. It means the world to me to be able to stand up for workers and be our voice in Albany — and on your television.

Thank you so much for your support! I hope you have a great weekend!

In service,
Jessica Ramos
