Allison is the mother of four girls, three of whom attend Head Start. Head Start is a preschool program for children from low-income families that support the emotional, social and academic development of children. Many of the children who attend Head Start have developmental delays, including Allison's daughter Callie. When she first started the Head Start program, she was behind her peers academically, socially and in her language skills. Today, she is on par with her peers socially and academically. She also loves to talk and is excited about starting Kindergarten in the fall!

While Callie's success is reason enough to celebrate, her mom Allison is also celebrating success. Thanks to the support she received from Head Start staff, Allison was able to complete her college degree. She will soon be fulfilling her dream to become a teacher when she starts her first teaching job.
