Folks, we all heard it as kids: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
But as I wrap up my second week in a chaotic Republican House full of insurrectionists and MAGA crybabies, I’m really struggling to find nice things to say.
Well, Teddy Roosevelt’s daughter Alice once famously said, “If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit next to me.”
I think Alice was really onto something there. When our democracy is at stake, we can’t hide behind one-sided civility or politeness – we need to tell it like it is.
That’s why I’ve never been afraid to level with you, folks: the good and the bad, the nice and the not-so-nice.
I’ll continue having those tough conversations wherever I can. But I need your help to continue standing as a voice for truth, reason, and accountability in Washington. Will you pitch in $15 to join the fight?
