Folks,

The Supreme Court made its fateful decision in Citizens United v. FEC on this day 13 years ago. Ever since, I’ve been fighting to put an end to this disastrous decision and the harm it’s done to our democracy.

The unfortunate reality of our political landscape these days is that shady outside interests often have an outsized influence on elections because they have the most money. Millionaires, billionaires, and special interests can spend practically whatever they want to influence voters. And in doing so, they can tip the scales in favor of their allies, undermining our democracy and the will of voters.

Outside groups run by billionaires have spent outrageous sums of dark money to influence elections and our government — spending whatever it takes to drown out the voices of the middle class, so they can make decisions behind closed doors in Washington alongside the elected officials they supported with dark money donations.

Well, I’m no stranger to taking on special interests. And I strongly support overturning Citizens United to end the flood of dark money in our elections.

Heck, I was the #1 target of outside money when I ran for re-election. That’s why our campaign relies on grassroots supporters like you — because people should decide elections, not shady special interests.

Dark money groups have been undermining American democracy for well over a decade now, and our communities have paid the price. Add your name to join me in calling for a constitutional amendment to end Citizens United.
