This week the Campaign for Southern Equality team was honored to be in Columbia, South Carolina, joining our amazing partners in the SC United for Justice & Equality coalition for our third legislative session together. 

We celebrated the introduction of a comprehensive, LGBTQ-inclusive nondiscrimination bill and also pushed back against an unprecedented wave of anti-LGBTQ+ attacks in South Carolina. We met with legislators, spoke with the media, and engaged with three dozen South Carolinians, who learned how to share their story and get prepared to raise their voices this year.

We know that right now, anti-transgender and anti-LGBTQ+ bills are proliferating all across the country and throughout the South. We're sending love and solidarity to everyone fighting hard against these attacks – because no one's identity and humanity should be up for debate. Your support of CSE helps ensure that our team can respond in Southern states and support queer and transgender people as much as possible. 

The event this week in South Carolina was an inspiring display of community and leadership, and we were grateful to be a part of it.
