Earlier this week, news broke that Donald Trump wants to be back on Facebook – and he’s asking Meta to make it happen.

We've been making clear just how reckless it would be for Meta to give Trump back his megaphone. Just this week we dispatched mobile billboards across the country using Trump’s own words to show the threat he poses if allowed back on Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg himself said that Trump used the platform “to incite violent insurrection against a democratically elected government.” And, in its decision to suspend Trump, Meta said that they would “assess whether the risk to public safety has receded.” Yet, Trump has only become a greater threat to public safety and democracy. He continues to spew election disinformation on his own social media platform, Truth Social, spread dangerous rhetoric promoting violence, and embrace QAnon at rallies and events.

In December, 28 civil society organizations joined the call to keep Trump off Facebook, and next week we are collectively delivering more than 100,000 petition signatures to Meta. Be sure your name is included. SIGN the petition.
