I hope you are staying safe and warm as communities across our state got snow this week! I was proud to kick this week off by honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a true champion of peace and equality for all.

I hope you found time this week to reflect on the impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Dr. King’s vision of a more equitable and just future lives on decades after the Montgomery Bus Boycotts and the March on Washington. May we carry on his work and never stop fighting for what is right.

Thank you to New England College and The Elliot for meeting with me this week to discuss this funding and their new partnership.

We know that hospitals and health care facilities across New Hampshire are understaffed and in need of additional support. That’s why I was proud to secure $2,000,000 — with Senator Jeanne Shaheen — for New England College to help increase its program capacity to educate and prepare more highly trained nursing professionals.

It was great to discuss the importance of these resources and their new partnership with Elliot Hospital this week! I will continue working to invest in the training and education of nurses across New Hampshire.

In the 2022 Midterm election, voters were clear: they rejected far-right extremism and embraced mainstream Democrats focused on bipartisanship and delivering real results for the American people. The vast majority of these Democrats are part of the nearly 100 Member, center-left New Democrat Coalition in the House. 

As the Chair of the Coalition, I know firsthand how hard our Members are working to break through the gridlock in Washington to make a difference in Americans’ lives. 

That’s why I call New Dems the "Can Do Caucus."

NEW THIS WEEK: All U.S. military veterans experiencing a suicidal crisis will be eligible for free emergency medical care at any VA or private facility effective on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023. 

This is a major step forward in access to mental health care for our nation’s veterans. The people who served our country in uniform deserve the highest quality of care we can offer. I will continue fighting to ensure that is the case.

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2023: Did you know that Medicare beneficiaries do not have to pay any out-of-pocket costs for life-saving vaccines under the Inflation Reduction Act?

I was proud that my bill to ensure no-cost vaccines for seniors was signed into law — I’ll keep working to lower health care costs across the board.

As always, the CDC and the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services are the best resources to turn to for information about COVID-19. If you are sick, stay home and call your health care provider.
