Dear,
Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority's (LAHSA) Annual Point in Time Homeless Count will take place from January 24-26. The count is a vital tool in our response to the homelessness emergency and provides the data for all levels of government to make informed decisions to address the crisis head on. In my first newsletter after taking office, I shared with you some of the steps I have already taken to address the crisis with immediate action, and I also mentioned that everyone can play a role in confronting the crisis.
The Homeless Count is an opportunity for all of us to lock arms and make a difference. It takes thousands of volunteers each year to survey the entire County of Los Angeles, and I hope you will join us in this important work.
There are dozens of deployment sites throughout the city and county that still need volunteers to compile an accurate and complete count. Sites in the Valley are in the highest need of volunteers, and locations in Boyle Heights, Hollywood, MacArthur Park, West Adams and South Park are in high need as well.
Tuesday Sites with Highest Need
Wednesday Site with Highest Need
Thursday Sites with Highest Need
I urge you to consider volunteering for this year’s count and hope you will lock arms with me in making it a priority to bring our unhoused neighbors inside.

If you are not able to volunteer in-person, you can also help by spreading the word to your networks. Every action makes a difference.
Karen Bass, Mayor of Los Angeles
