John -- if you want to understand how the outcome of Merrill v. Milligan impacts voting rights and how our efforts will help shape voter protections for communities of color for the next decade, you just need to check out these two outcomes.

Option 1: If the Supreme Court overturns the lower court’s decision, the consequences will be immediate and severe, denying black voters in Alabama equitable opportunity to elect their candidate of choice.

This decision could effectively remove significant protections against racial vote dilution and will rollback the VRA's voting protections for communities of color across the country.

Option 2: If the Supreme Court affirms the lower court’s ruling it will allow for a fair playing field on which voters in Alabama can decide the outcome of elections, not rigged maps.

This decision could prevent Alabama from conducting future elections under its new congressional map and call for a congressional redistricting plan that includes two districts in which Black Alabamians have the opportunity to elect their candidates of choice.

If you believe Option 2 is the best and only choice, you’re not alone. Help the All On The Line continue fighting for fair maps across the country >>> [link removed]
