AZ Central: In inauguration speech to thousands at Capitol, Hobbs seeks 'to move past division and partisanship'

We’re working on building an Arizona for everyone, but in order to do so, we need to focus on the future — not conspiracy theories about our state’s previous elections. In her inaugural address, Katie emphasized this point, saying: “Let me say unequivocally to every elected official here today that if you’re ready to make real progress on the issues that matter most to the people of this state, then my door will always be open … Let me also say just as clearly that chasing conspiracy theories, pushing agendas for special interests, attacking the rights of your fellow Arizonans, or seeking to further undermine our democracy will lead nowhere.”

ABC15: Governor Hobbs looks to 'build' with affordable housing plan

On day one as Arizona’s 24th Governor, Katie participated in a Day of Service alongside the Arizona Service Project, helping make repairs to a family’s mobile home in Avondale. As her administration begins, Katie is working to prioritize affordable housing — proposing the state expand access to low-interest financing for housing developments and incentivize local communities to provide land.

In Katie’s first State of the State address, she urged state lawmakers to override Arizona’s current spending limit for education to ensure our state’s students and educators have the support they need.
