John,

With the 2020 legislative session now in full swing, it's time to get down to work, build off our great successes of the previous year, and ensure even more victories to protect the Maine we all love.

Today, we kicked off the legislative year with our allies in Maine's Environmental Priorities Coalition — a partnership of more than two dozen environmental, conservation and public health organizations representing over 100,000 members — and announced our four priority bills to regulate toxic PFAS chemicals, protect Maine's land and water, and strengthen the state's recycling program. You can learn more about our shared policy agenda here >> www.protectmaine.org/epc

We are starting 2020 in a strong position, with conservation majorities in both chambers and an ally in the Blaine House who champions our agenda.

But getting our legislation passed won't be without challenges: this year's session is short, lawmakers will have many competing priorities, and our opponents will be working to stall or derail efforts to protect Maine's environment. In the coming weeks and months, we'll be counting on your help — our members — to build grassroots support to make sure our legislators know how important fighting for our beautiful state is to conservation voters across Maine.

Thanks for all you do,

Beth
