Congressman Ro Khanna here with breaking news and an important action you
can take right now — because corporate lobbying to crush workers has
reached a sickening new low.

The NY Times exposed how the National Restaurant Association (AKA the
‘other NRA’) forces tipped workers to chip in $15 for a required class
then deploys their own money to lobby to keep their wages low!

They are literally forcing restaurant workers to fund their own
exploitation, and we're fighting back with everything we have.

That’s why I signed the Pledge to Reject NRA-Pac Money — and why we need
my colleagues in Congress to do the same!

[ [link removed] ]Our Revolution is teaming up with One Fair Wage to take on the NRA and
Raise the Wage. You can help by calling your representatives to sign a
pledge to reject NRA-PAC money?

It’s because of the Other NRA’s massive lobbying that restaurant workers
earn far below a living wage — the federal tipped minimum wage has been
$2.13 an hour for over 30 years!

As these workers are mandated to pay $15 for a class ostensibly about
"food safety,” that money is going right to the NRA — effectively making
workers fund their own economic exploitation.

We all need to fight for economic justice, and that’s why I’m proud to
stand with Our Revolution and grassroots activists to empower workers
nationwide. It will take action on the inside and on the outside to
outflank the lobbyists.

call on your representatives to sign a pledge to reject NRA-PAC money!

Our work with Our Revolution and workers in 2022 successfully helped pass
sectoral bargaining for fast food workers with AB 257 in my state of
California, and we increased NLRB funding by $25M to take on union
busters. This is a start.

Now, I’m excited to see Our Revolution partnering with One Fair Wage to
pass higher wages in TEN states in 2023 — and work to get higher wages on
the ballot in AZ, OH, and MI in 2024!
