Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
As I begin another busy week in Texas, I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional district, and our country as a whole:
Many of you watched the deliberations over the House Speaker’s election over the past couple of weeks and many of you called in support, as well as questions, for what were fighting for up here.
All in all, the final agreement is a tremendous victory for the American people, and I am proud to support it. Over the past few months, my colleagues and I worked hard to secure institutional changes to the rules of this body to empower rank and file Members, allow Members to hold leadership accountable, and to confront the business-as-usual practices that are destroying our Republic, including out-of-control spending.
From the outset of this process, we set out to get the tools necessary to protect the American people from the machinations of this godforsaken town; that’s what we got in this agreement. You can read my full statement on the matter here.
I spoke more about it in my interview with Speaker McCarthy, Byron Donalds, and John James on Hannity last week:
Confronting the Chinese Communist Party:
Last week, I also reintroduced my “Securing America's Land from Foreign Interference Act” to prevent the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from owning land in the United States. This bill would ensure that United States land never comes under the control of the CCP by prohibiting the purchase of U.S. public or private real estate by any members of the CCP or any entity under the control or influence of the CCP.
There is no reason we should allow one of our greatest adversaries — the Chinese Communist Party – to buy up land in the United States. If the Soviet Union had been doing this in the 80s, we’d have recognized the threat. China does is not our friend; they want to dominate us and destroy our way of life; we need to wake up and start acting like it.
You can read more about it here.
Defund the WHO:
Speaking of China, funneling millions of taxpayer dollars to the corrupt World Health Organization (WHO) that serves the Chinese Communist Party is a slap in the face to hardworking American families struggling under record high inflation, and to all those whose lives and livelihoods were ruined and destroyed by the COVID pandemic.
That’s why I also introduced legislation last week to defund the WHO.
The WHO not only regularly promotes abortion and radical gender ideology but also praised China for their “leadership” at the beginning of COVID-19 and has done nothing to hold the CCP accountable for the spread of COVID-19. It is far past time for Congress to use its power of the purse to cut off US funding to this corrupt international body just like the Trump Administration did.
You can read more about that here.
Here are some other stories about what I’ve been up to lately:

Passport resources
The State Department is encouraging passport applications and renewals during the off-peak travel season in fall or winter because demand is lower and processing is faster. Please remember to check your passport expiration date and keep in mind some countries require your passport to be valid for six months after your visit. You can find information on how to apply or renew your passport here.
USDA Wildfire and Drought Resources
The US Department of Agriculture offers several resources available to farmers and ranchers impacted by the recent wildfires and drought in Texas. We encourage you to take advantage of this federal assistance if eligible.
Resources for wildfire and drought recovery and risk management are available here and here, respectively.
If you have any concerns that my office can help out with, please don’t hesitate to call or email through the “email me” portal on my website. If you feel so inclined, you can also just send an old-fashioned letter to my Washington or district offices.
If your friends, relatives, or neighbors would also like to sign up for these weekly updates, they can do so by sending my office a quick email or simply by signing up here. For more up-to-the-minute updates, you can follow my press team on Facebook and Twitter.
Sincerely,
Chip Roy
