John- Dan Crenshaw here. This week I continued to call for more forceful action against the drug cartels that are poisoning Americans with fentanyl and threatening our national security. I also called out the hypocrisy in the aftermath of Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents, exposed the fallacies of the radical environmentalists' arguments on climate change, and outlined the negotiations over the debt ceiling. As always, thank you for your support. Here’s your brief: THIS IS HOW WE FIGHT THE CARTELS CLICK HERE OR ON THE IMAGE ABOVE TO WATCH It’s not talked about enough just how dangerous the Mexican drug cartels are. These are not little, unorganized gangs. The cartels are militant, well-equipped, and highly trained organizations that are more like ISIS than they are the mob. The cartels are at war with us and the Mexican government and they’re killing American citizens by trafficking fentanyl into our country. They have complete control over our southern border and are the largest profiteers of the border crisis. I recently introduced an AUMF (authorization for use of military force) with several of my colleagues in Congress against the cartels. This is only one of the many ways that we can deal with this threat, but we need bipartisan support. We also need the administration to use this authorization as leverage over the Mexican government, which so far has been unwilling or incapable of addressing this threat that poses a national security risk to both Mexico and America. I’m also continuing to call for the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, whose deliberate dereliction of duty has emboldened these cartels and endangered America’s safety, sovereignty, and rule of law. DEMAND IMPEACHMENT OF ALEJANDRO MAYORKAS "TRANSPARENCY" CLICK HERE OR ON THE IMAGE ABOVE TO WATCH The left is engaging in serious hypocrisy in their defense of Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. Here’s what we know: Classified documents were discovered in early November at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C. (which, by the way, is described as a target of foreign influence peddling by our adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party) - yet the American people were kept in the dark about this for two months. It’s no surprise that the White House wanted to keep this a secret until after the midterm elections on November 8. Then, in late December, Joe Biden’s own attorneys just “randomly” decided to inspect Joe Biden’s garage in Wilmington, Delaware and found another batch of classified documents. Finally, in January, the White House Counsel’s Office admitted to the public that they found classified materials in November. Did they do this in the name of “transparency?” No, of course not. They only did so because news organizations began to report on it. And since then, the White House admitted that more classified documents were found at Biden’s home in Wilmington than they originally disclosed. This was after the White House Press Secretary stood at the White House podium and promised us that the search was “complete.” This is next-level hypocrisy, even for the left. Remember, Joe Biden felt the need to go on national television and slam Trump’s handling of classified documents as “irresponsible.” The FBI ransacked Trump’s home and Democrats in Congress and their allies in the media acted like this was the largest threat to our national security. But now that the standard bearer of their party, Joe Biden, did the exact same thing? Nothing but equivocation, political spin, and downplaying the severity of storing classified documents in Biden’s garage. The left created the rules of the game when they reacted to Trump’s handling of classified documents with such outrage. Those are the rules we are going to play by now, even though it doesn’t suit the left’s narrative anymore. SIGN THE PETITION FOR A FULL-SCALE INVESTIGATION INTO BIDEN’S MISHANDLING OF CLASSIFIED MATERIALS GRETA’S “ARREST” EXPOSES THE RADICAL ENVIRONMENTALISTS… AGAIN CLICK HERE OR ON THE IMAGE ABOVE TO WATCH The hero of the radical environmentalists, Greta Thunberg, staged a fake arrest this week during an anti-coal protest in Germany. It was a publicity stunt, obviously, but it represents a warning that I talk about repeatedly when it comes to energy policy: Do not follow the lead of European countries, especially Germany, when it comes to reducing emissions. Let me explain. Germany has spent hundreds of billions of dollars (whether through direct subsidies or artificial price caps) to prop up unreliable renewable energy sources like solar and wind. Predictably, Germany is now facing severe energy shortages and they’re having to shift away from unreliable renewables to… coal and even wood burning. Sounds good for the environment, right? Unfortunately, Germany left themselves with little options after destroying their own energy portfolio and causing average household prices to skyrocket by 3X, with some of the most expensive electricity bills in the world. Germany has closed nuclear plants over the years and taken natural gas offline, even effectively stopping any new exploration for natural gas. They decided instead to pursue solar and wind at the demand of the environmental left, and as a result became reliant on natural gas from Russia to make up for the unsurprising disappointment in the energy produced from solar and wind. And, also unsurprisingly, Germany’s emissions haven’t reduced much at all. All cost, zero benefit. Remember, just because a policy feels good does not mean it will do good. Let’s not repeat the mistakes of Germany and other European countries who want to ignore fundamental truths about energy delivery and instead listen to the shrieks from the radical environmentalists like Greta. SHOP THE OFFICIAL TEAM CRENSHAW STORE GET READY FOR THE DEBT CEILING DEBATE CLICK HERE OR ON THE IMAGE ABOVE TO READ MORE You’re going to hear a lot of hyperventilating from the left over the upcoming debt ceiling debate. Put simply, the debt ceiling is the maximum amount of money that the American government can borrow. When we reach the debt ceiling, Congress usually raises it to avoid defaulting on our debt. Obviously, the Biden Administration and Congressional Democrats have been flagrantly irresponsible when it comes to fiscal restraint. As expected, the White House is demanding that Congress raise the debt ceiling without action to rein in out of control spending. That would be like a teenager demanding their parents raise their credit card limit without any action to prove they can responsibly manage their money. Now that Republicans took control of the House, we’re going to create a budget that outlines our priorities to cut wasteful spending. It will be very clear to the White House what a Republican majority is willing to accept when it comes to government spending and it will be very clear to them what we are demanding in return for raising the debt ceiling. Remember, Congress holds the purse strings when it comes to spending taxpayer dollars, not the White House. The White House will express fake outrage and claim Republicans are holding the American people hostage in order to rip away government services, but of course that is hyperbolic rhetoric that is divorced from reality. The reality is that the White House, Congressional Republicans, and Congressional Democrats are going to have to come to the table and negotiate this. Discretionary spending has been increasing over the last few years at double the rate of inflation, especially under Joe Biden, and that’s not even counting other bills like the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” and the unnecessary COVID spending bill, which was almost $2 trillion, and the infrastructure plan which was over a trillion dollars. A lot of this money - your money… taxpayer dollars - has flooded through these government agencies with a rubber stamp from Joe Biden and Democrat leaders in Congress. All Republicans are asking for is a commonsense approach to cut spending to start getting our fiscal house in order. The national debt is a serious threat to the stability of our country on multiple fronts. It’s time for Democrats to wake up to that fact and come to the table.
