I am about to ask you to split a contribution between my campaign for Governor of North Carolina and The Majority Rules. First, let me explain.
I learned early on that some things are worth fighting for – no matter the opposition.
Julius Chambers, James Ferguson, and my dad Adam Stein founded the first integrated law firm in North Carolina and led the legal battle against discrimination and for equality.
In 1971, their law office was firebombed and burned to the ground. But that didn’t stop them from fighting for what was right.
Today, we have a different set of bomb-throwers, who threaten our freedoms and our future.
And extremist politicians divide us to cling to power – they gerrymander legislative districts, promote the Big Lie about the 2020 election, and foment insurrectionists…
undermine and underfund public education, block Medicaid expansion, and turn a blind eye to corporate polluters…
attack fundamental reproductive freedoms, vilify entire groups of people as “filth,” and pass extreme, hateful laws, like HB2, North Carolina’s infamous bathroom bill.
I’m running for Governor because I believe in a very different North Carolina – one rooted in our shared values of freedom, justice, and opportunity for everyone.
For the last six years, as Attorney General of North Carolina, I’ve taken on big fights and won. I’ve worked hard to keep families safe, hold corporate wrongdoers accountable for the damage they’ve done, make polluters pay to clean up the messes they make, and defend reproductive and voting rights.
North Carolina is a great state! And if we invest in our people and their futures, we can be even greater.
Everybody deserves a fair shot – because if you work hard, where you come from should not limit how far you can go. Everyone should be able to get good health care, no matter where you live or how much money you earn. Every kid deserves a great education. And every family should be safe at home, at school or at work.
This is our moment.
Together, we can build a better and brighter North Carolina.
But it’s up to us. Join us.
And please contribute any amount you can. Thank you.
Let’s get it done,
Josh Stein
Attorney General of North Carolina and Democratic candidate for Governor
