This is an exciting week for the climate justice desk as we kick off our five-part collaborative series with Mothers Out Front. The series’ first piece is by executive director Beth Shipp who explores how the organization is moving to a more liberatory and transformative climate justice space under her leadership. Next, we revisit the wisdom and guidance of environmental scholar and leader Dr. Dorceta Taylor where we learn about the racist origins of environmentalism and explore the distinctions between climate change and climate justice with NPQ’s Cyndi Suarez. Lastly, Dr. Taylor’s poetry takes us into the moments where Black bodies are made unwelcome in the open environment.
