For years, Indianapolis has faced a growing problem: a shrinking supply of affordable housing. This week, my administration took action to tackle this issue with the launch of the Vacant to Vibrant affordable housing program.
The Vacant to Vibrant affordable housing program is a collaborative effort between city officials, community leaders, and private partners to redevelop city-owned properties into new affordable housing.
Home ownership is a cornerstone for building prosperity and achieving the American Dream. Vacant to Vibrant will help open up this opportunity for Indy residents. We are incredibly excited about this endeavor and look forward to the transformative change it will have on communities, families and on our entire city.
This program is another addition to the City of Indianapolis' unprecedented efforts to create affordable housing, fight displacement and spur economic development.
