Urge members of Congress to sign the pledge to reject NRA PAC money.
Friend,
BREAKING NEWS: The New York Times has reported that the National Restaurant Association (AKA the ‘other NRA’) requires tipped workers to pay $15 for a required class and then uses that money to lobby to keep their wages low.
In other words, the NRA is literally forcing underpaid restaurant workers to fund their own exploitation.
As soon as I learned about this, I signed a pledge to reject National Restaurant Association PAC money - and I’m calling on my colleagues in Congress to do the same.
Tell your representative: Sign the pledge to reject NRA PAC money.
It’s because of the National Restaurant Association’s massive lobbying that restaurant workers earn far below a living wage. The federal tipped minimum wage has been $2.13 an hour for over 30 years.
In 2022, I stood with the SEIU and restaurant workers to help pass a first-in-the-nation bill giving California’s fast food workers new bargaining power, and we increased funding for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) by $25M to take on union busters. Now it’s time for us to take action against the NRA’s exploitative lobbying and empower restaurant workers nationwide.
