Friend,
Today, anti-choice extremists are protesting at the Capitol as part of the “March for Life.” Let’s be clear: Their location switch from the Supreme Court is no accident. They know that SCOTUS’s decision to overturn Roe in June marked a win in the judiciary, and they're showing us their new priorities lie in passing a national abortion ban.
But we know that we’re a prochoice nation.
Just weeks ago, the FDA lifted outdated restrictions on medication abortion, allowing pharmacies to dispense these necessary medications, and ruling that the postal service is allowed to deliver them nationwide. And we need more leaders to stand up for our reproductive freedoms.
Stand with us and sign the petition to the Justice Department, asking them to challenge all state abortion bans that violate federal law.
Since Roe v. Wade was overturned and we lost federal protections for abortions, 14 states have banned all or most abortions, and many more have severely limited access.
When federal and state law is in conflict, federal law prevails. The Department of Justice must use its power to challenge all state bans that violate federal law.
If banning abortion is no longer unconstitutional, we must use every method at our disposal to restore abortion access. Sign the petition to the U.S. Department of Justice: Challenge all state abortion bans that violate federal law.
People deserve compassionate, accessible abortion care and deserve to choose what their care looks like. But until that's possible, we need to continue our work to stop abortion bans where they originate: in the states.
