Toxic PFAS are linked to serious health problems — including liver malfunction, birth defects and cancer — and they’ve been found in the drinking water of 43 states.1
But because these “forever chemicals" have been manufactured by big companies like 3M and DuPont, and used in everything from non-stick pans to food packaging, people say it's “impossible” to stop them.
Well, guess what?Food & Water Action doesn't back down from the so-called impossible — and after a massive grassroots organizing campaign, the House of Representatives just passed legislation to finally protect our drinking water from these dangerous chemicals.2
The groundbreaking PFAS bill passed the House of Representatives on an impressive bipartisan vote of 247-159. Public support for federal action has been growing for years, and that pressure will only continue to grow.
Now the Senate must pass the PFAS Action Act of 2019 with no weakening amendments. Our country deserves clean water. Nothing less.
