As you may know, the City Council of San Diego is set to vote on a resolution declaring housing a human right in the city next week. While the intention may be to address the housing and homelessness crisis, as a Republican, you know that this resolution could have negative consequences for homeowners, landlords, and the housing market in San Diego.

As conservatives, we believe in the importance of considering the practicality and cost of this resolution. Declaring housing a human right may lead to increased pressure on the government to provide housing for all, and could result in increased taxes and regulations for homeowners and landlords. Additionally, it could discourage landlords from investing in the housing market, leading to decreased housing options and higher rent costs.
