FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Public Hearing Scheduled for Proposed Revisions to the Skagit County Public Health Schedule of Charges

?

On February 23, 2023, the Skagit County Board of Health will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed adoption of revised Skagit County Public Health Schedule of Charges at 1:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Hearing Room located at 1800 Continental Place in Mount Vernon. The public hearing provides an opportunity for the public to give comment on the proposed fee changes and allows the Board of Health to consider public comment and take possible action. Public comments for or against the adoption of the proposed revisions are invited by attendance, email, mail, or hand delivery.

Proposed revisions to the Schedule of Charges more closely reflect the actual costs for services such as permitting and inspecting food service establishments, living environment facilities, on-site septic systems, drinking water systems, and other fees. The proposed implementation date is tentatively April 1, 2023, and could affect all permit holders, licenses, and applicants for Environmental Health Services in the Retail Food, On-site Sewage, Drinking Water, Water Recreation, and Living Environment programs. The Schedule of Charges was last revised in 2013 for most programs, apart from the Food program, which was last revised in 2019. To obtain a copy of the proposed Schedule of Charges revisions, please visit the Skagit County Environmental Health [ [link removed] ] webpage or contact Skagit County Public Health at (360) 416-1500.
