Hi Friend, just wanted to make sure you saw this.
Today, the State of Texas officially recognizes “Confederate Heroes’” Day. And in 2023, it’s time to put an end to upholding white supremacy and honoring racist losers. Texas House Democrats are rallying behind State Rep. Jarvis Johnson’s bill that would abolish this hateful holiday.
Friend, our support for this bill is growing -- but we need your help. Will you add your name to our petition supporting the abolishment of “Confederate Heroes’” Day in Texas?
Next, you can share our tweet to help our support grow:
Like I said in my last email: if states like Louisiana and Arkansas can abolish this disgrace of a “holiday,” Texas sure can too. Texas Republicans have no excuse.
Let’s get to 10,000 signatures, y’all!

Friend, the hypocrisy is at an all time high.
In the same week that Texans observed Martin Luther King Jr. Day, our state will once again officially recognize “Confederate Heroes’” Day. Yesterday, our Texas House Democrats rallied around a bill to abolish this racist and tired holiday. Add your name to show solidarity in abolishing Confederate Heroes’ Day.
In 2023, there’s no way that there should be any praise for traitors that fought to uphold the slavery of Black people. And trust me, there will be Texas Republicans who quoted MLK this week that will also acknowledge so-called “Confederate Heroes’” Day. It’s on all of us to hold these elected officials accountable.
If states like Louisiana and Arkansas can abolish this disgrace of a “holiday,” Texas should too.
Texas Democrats applaud State Rep. Jarvis Johnson, who filed the bill to get rid of this state holiday -- and we will do whatever it takes to finally get rid of this nonsensical celebration of racist Confederate traitors.
Friend, help us get to 10,000 signatures. Add your name >>
