Yesterday I emailed you about George Santos. And today we have crazy news about Marjorie Taylor Greene. It’s official: Kevin McCarthy just named Marjorie Taylor Greene to the powerful Homeland Security and Oversight Committees.

A lot of people are upset about her being on the Oversight Committee (and the insanity that will bring for the Biden Administration). But I want to point out my fears about her overseeing homeland security.

This is the same person who made disgusting comments about the Holocaust, claimed the Sandy Hook and Las Vegas shootings were staged, and spread lies that the California wildfires were started by space lasers. And now she’s in charge of keeping our homeland safe? I don’t feel any safer, I’ll tell you that much.

It’s now crystal clear: Kevin McCarthy and Marjorie Taylor Greene brokered a deal. If she supports him for Speaker, she becomes a key advisor and policy leader for the Republican caucus. McCarthy needs Marjorie Taylor Greene and the extremists’ votes in order to stay in power. So he’s giving them everything they’ve ever wished for.

I’m incredibly nervous about what this means for the next two years of our democracy. We cannot just accept this as fate. I’m not scared to stand up and call this out. And I need your help to make sure everyone hears our message.
