Dear John,

It’s been a difficult couple of months.

But our disappointment at the election result is tempered by a quiet pride in what we did achieve.

And if it had not been for all your hard work, the result could have been so much worse.

With this in mind, we have published an impact report, which considers the highs and lows of Best for Britain’s election campaign.

Here are some of the figures we’re most proud of.

In the six weeks before election day, we reached 25 million people online. That’s more than half the electorate.

More than 4.5 million people visited our tactical voting engine, Get Voting.

Our advice was accurate in 97% of seats.

This helped Labour to victory in 6 seats they may not have otherwise won.

And parties we recommended experienced a significant boost in 19 seats.

But as was made obvious in this last election, tactical voting can only go so far in combatting a broken electoral system and an iron-clad electoral pact between the Leave parties.

Clearly, progressive parties need to work together in the future, especially as it seems likely constituency boundaries will be redrawn.

So we want to thank you for all your efforts in trying to bring the Remain movement together.

We must learn from our achievements as well as our mistakes. And if we don’t know where we’ve come from, we won’t know where we’re going.

Best wishes,

Naomi Smith
