Just a few weeks ago I was officially sworn in to Congress, so I wanted to take a moment to talk to you about the values that are guiding my decisions and actions while I’m in Washington.

Ship, Shipmate, Self.

John, that’s one of the first lessons I learned at the Naval Academy. You put the mission first, and you put others before yourself. These values are core for me, and they're what this fight for our common good is all about.

Fighting for our common good means putting people first. And as long as I’m in Congress, you can count on me to never lose sight of that mission.

I’ll never stop advocating for the union way of life, for our small businesses and bringing manufacturing back home, for our wives and daughters to have access to an abortion without fear of being thrown in jail, for our LGBTQ+ friends and family to move freely through society rather than live in the shadows, and for peace and prosperity across the world.

Republicans have had control of the House for less than a month, but already we’ve seen how their party is beholden to huge corporations and right-wing extremists, and they’ll put those interests over working families in America every single time. They care about power and profit at whatever cost.

John, we have a tough fight ahead of us. I know that my fellow Democrats in the House will stand beside me to fight back against Republican extremism, but I also know we can’t do it without you. Can you chip in to my people-powered campaign today?

Thank you for being in this fight for our common good with me.
