AR-15s now made for kids

Hi John,

This week, at the biggest gun industry trade show, gun manufacturers introduced their latest weapon: an assault weapon for kids. I wish we were making this up, but it’s true. Wee1 Tactical is selling a JR AR-15 “geared towards smaller enthusiasts.”

This announcement comes just days after a video went viral of a father showing his 5-year-old son how to shoot and reload a handgun. And it comes just weeks after a 6-year-old brought a gun to school and shot his teacher.

Gun violence is the leading cause of death for children in the United States. The answer to reversing this devastating trend is not arming our young people with assault weapons. But the gun industry remains laser-focused on padding their own pockets at the cost of our children's lives.

Right now, we are fighting to pass two critically important policies to stop the flow of weapons of war into our communities and address the gun industry’s reckless business practices. We are urging Washington lawmakers to ban the sale of assault weapons once and for all and to make it possible to hold the gun industry legally accountable for the devastating harm they cause.

If we are successful, gun manufacturers won’t be able to get away with despicable practices like this in Washington. But we won’t be able to do it alone. Please, chip in today to help fund our fight to keep assault weapons out of our communities and to end the gun industry’s legal immunity.

Thank you for helping us fight for a safer future.
